In reply to queries from the Committee, staff advised (i) patient assistance provided by Richmond Fire-Rescue during the incident at the Burkeville Days event, (ii) actions taken to prevent water run-off from burned materials during the fire on Mitchell Island, and (iii) typical causes of household fires.

Recycling Facilities on Mitchell Island

 

 

The Fire Chief reported that a task force has been established to conduct a review of the calls for service, perform intervention and provide support and education for the Mitchell Island recycling operators to preclude fires from reoccurring in the future. A report back will be provided to the Committee.

RCMP Monthly Activity Report - June 2022

In reply to queries from the Committee, staff advised (i) actions that can be taken by the RCMP to respond to the increase in graffiti occurring in Steveston, and (ii) the sexual assaults did not occur on City-owned facilities.
