PRESENTATION | |
|
|
Diane Cousar, Chair, Gateway Theatre Society, accompanied by Simon Johnston, Artistic and Executive Director, Gateway Theatre, gave a PowerPoint presentation about the Richmond Gateway Theatre’s Annual Report for 2007 – 2008. Highlights included the Theatre’s activities for the season, Mission Statement, programs and services, financial overview, and successes, such as increased ticket sales, as well as the highest number of nominations ever. Ms. Cousar advised that the need for volunteer hours and the demand for arts education had increased. In conclusion she thanked all supporters of the Gateway Theatre, particularly, the volunteers, the City of Richmond, and Councillor Evelina Halsey-Brandt, the Theatre Society’s Council Liaison for 2008. |

In answer to a question, Mr. Johnston advised that the Theatre planned to continue reducing the its accumulated deficit over the next few years by properly managing theatre funds, and by offering popular shows and programs. Mr. Johnston also provided information related to popular Theatre programs, including the Sea of Stories project, as well as the next production “Art of Murder”, premiering February 5th, 2009. |
