COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION

    (1)

That a representative recommended by the School District be included as a standing member of the Community Safety Plan - Advisory Task Force;

    (2)

That the Terms of Reference for the Community Safety Plan Advisory Task Force (attached to the report dated December 14th, 2001, from the Manager, Divisional Programs), be approved; and

    (3)

That staff proceed with the recruitment of members to the Community Safety Plan Advisory Task Force.

BYLAW TO REGULATE THE INSPECTION AND TESTING OF FIRE PROTECTION EQUIPMENT

BRITANNIA HERITAGE SHIPYARD FRONT DOCK PROJECT

COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION

   

That an increase to the Council approved capital project of the Britannia Heritage Shipyard front dock be approved to allow for dredging to a minimum depth of 3.1 meters (as outlined in Option 1 described in the report dated January 14th, 2002, from the Managers of Facilities Planning & Construction and Cultural Services respectively.)

COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION

    (1)

That the grant amounts (identified in the report dated January 13th, 2002, from the Manager, Customer Services) for Health and Social Services applicants, in the amount of $252,200, be approved, and the cheques disbursed, on the understanding that the grants awarded to Big Brothers and Big Sisters would be amended to be $3,600;

    (2)

That the grants (identified in the report dated January 13th, 2002, from the Manager, Customer Services) for Cultural; Community Promotion and Summer Program applicants, in the amount of $64,300, be approved, and the cheques disbursed; and

    (3)

That the request for funding from the Richmond Kinsmen Club to purchase the lights and displays used as part of the "Nature Comes to Light" event held at the Nature Park each Christmas, be referred to staff for review and report to the General Purposes Committee in due course.

That the submission of the following 11 road improvement projects for cost-sharing as part of the TransLink 2002 Major Road Network Minor Capital Program, (as described in the report dated January 11th, 2002, from the Director, Transportation), be endorsed:

Arterial Road Traffic and Pedestrian Safety Improvements (at three locations);

      (b)
