2004 WORLD JUNIOR BADMINTON CHAMPIONSHIPS

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

 

 

That the City:

 

 

(1)

support the 2004 World Junior Badminton Championships to be held at Minoru Arenas from October 15 31, 2004; and

 

 

(2)

City provide services in kind as outlined in the staff report not to exceed $7,500.

MICROCELL SOLUTIONS INCORPORATED SPORTS FIELD LIGHTING PARTNERSHIP PROPOSAL

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

 

 

That the:

 

 

(1)

proposal from Microcell Solutions Incorporated for the installation of telecommunications apparatus on City sports field lighting at the Hugh Boyd Athletic Park be approved as per the terms of the licence agreement (Attachment 1) and;

 

 

(2)

City advertise its intent to lease a portion of the Hugh Boyd Park site to support the Microcell proposal and;

 

 

(3)

revenue from the Microcell proposal be directed to the Sports Field Reserve Fund account for future sports field improvements in Richmond.

SEA ISLAND COMMUNITY SAFETY BUILDING PUBLIC ART PROJECT

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

 

 

That:

 

 

(1)

an allocation of $40,000 for the development of a public art project as part of the new Sea Island Community Safety Building, be endorsed; and

 

 

(2)

staff implement the installation of the Shaping Hands Public Art Project, as described in the report (dated May 12, 2004 from the Manager, Policy Planning).
