Motion to adopt the minutes of the meeting of the General Purposes Committee held on Monday, June 4^th, 2001.

MR. PHILIP TRAYNOR, REGARDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A MOBILE PASTRY AND MUFFIN BUSINESS

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

That the City Clerk prepare a Civic Election Administration and Procedure Bylaw to authorize the following:

the use of the Provincial Voters List;

voting at large;

the use of the automated vote counting system;

the extended use of mail ballots and the elimination of "mobile polls"; and

the Chief Election Officer to establish advance voting days,

and take no further action on the following:

random ordering of names on ballot;

limiting the number of scrutineers;

establishing additional general voting opportunities;

resolving a tied vote by "lot draw"; and

requiring nomination deposits.
