Acting Mayor Steves called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

support for cANADIAN cHINESE TABLE TENNIS FEDERATION event

It was moved and seconded

That the City:

(a)

support the 3^rd World Junior Circuit Final and Continental Cadet Challenge of 2003;

(b)

declare the week of October 27, 2003 through November 2, 2003 as YOUTH RENDEZ-VOUS 2003 week;

(c)

expedite the issuance of necessary permits for the event;

(d)

provide an in-kind contribution for the hanging of 50 event banners, to a maximum value of $3,750; and

(e)

that staff create City sponsorship event guidelines.
 

The question on Resolution No. SP03/1-1 was not called, as the following amendment was introduced:

SP03/1-2

It was moved and seconded

That Part (e) be deleted in its entirety, and that the following be substituted therefore, That staff draft City Sponsorship Event Guidelines and recommendations as to whether or not Council should sponsor events.:
