The question on Resolution PH26/4-3 was not called as, in response to queries from Council, staff noted (i) the proposal is to have rubberized mats placed on top of the soil, resulting in no change to the underlying soil conditions, (ii) the height of the greenhouse will be 7.0 metres, (iii) the site will be partitioned so the southern portion of the site will continue to be leased to the current farmer to produce potatoes and grain, and the northern portion will be subject to farming operations to produce a range of potted plants and other produce, and (iv) the property has farm status as per BC Assessment and has also been reviewed by the Agricultural Land Commission as part of a Notice of Intent application and was deemed to be a permitted farm use. |
