COMMUNITY SAFETY COMMITTEE TERMS OF REFERENCE
(Report: Sept. 25/01, File No.: ) (REDMS No. 508607)

   

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

   

(1)

That the Citizens Advisory Committee on Policing be disbanded, and that letters of appreciation be sent out by the Mayor for each former member of the committee.

   

(2)

That an eleven member Community Safety Advisory Committee be created and that the Terms of Reference (attached to the report dated September 25, 2001 from the General Manager, Community Safety), be approved.

   

(3)

That staff proceed to advertise to fill vacancies on the Community Safety Advisory Committee as part of the year end advisory committee appointment process.

That the report (dated September 27th, 2001, from the Manager, Community Bylaws), regarding Community Safety Division Statistics, be received for information.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

   

(1)

That the draft Community Safety Division 2001-2003 plan (attached to the report dated May 7th, 2001, from the Manager, Divisional Programs), be endorsed.

   

(2)

That staff continue with Phase 2 (as outlined in the report dated May 7th, 2001, from the Manager, Divisional Programs).
