That staff proceed with the development of a Community Contribution Agreement with the Steveston Harbour Authority for the greening of the Tin Shed Site.

That Council endorse the 2010 Trails Strategy as the guide for developing the Richmond Trails System.

6.

RICHMOND 125 CELEBRATION OPPORTUNITIES

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

 

 

That:

 

 

(1)

staff implement the expanded celebration opportunities for Richmond's 125th Anniversary as detailed in the report dated November 7th, 2003 from the Director, Parks, and the Director, Corporate Planning and Intergovernmental Relations;

 

 

(2)

$25,000 be approved from the 2004 Council Provision to fund the expanded Richmond 125th Anniversary activities;

 

 

(3)

staff implement the proposed Richmond Waterfront Festival Celebration as outlined in the report dated November 7th, 2003 from the Director, Parks, and the Director, Corporate Planning and Intergovernmental Relations ; and

 

 

(4)

funding in the amount of $55,000 be taken from the Council Provision fund to hire a coordinator for the Waterfront Festival event, plus an additional $10,000 contingency, with the understanding that this amount will be recovered through alternate revenue sources associated with the event.

MEMORIAL GARDEN FEASIBILITY STUDY

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

 

 

That:

 

 

(1)

the Richmond Memorial Garden Feasibility Study Phase 1 be received for information; and

 

 

(2)

staff be directed to implement Phase 2 of the Richmond Memorial Garden Feasibility Study to investigate the financial, governance and siting issues of potentially locating a Memorial Garden in Richmond.
