STAFF RECOMMENDATION

That each of the following bylaws be introduced and given first, second and third readings:

(1)

Public Health Protection Bylaw No. 6989, Amendment Bylaw No 7133; and

(2)

Municipal Ticket Authorization Bylaw 7027, Amendment Bylaw No. 7134.

GATEWAY THEATRE ADDITIONAL FUNDING

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

(1)

That the Administrative Operational changes proposed for the Gateway Theatre, be endorsed.

(2)

That the expenditure of the $50,000 additional funding included in the Year 2000 Operating budget, which was specifically allocated to the Gateway Theatre, be approved.

FIELDHOUSE FACILITY AT LONDON/STEVESTON PARK

(Report: Apr. 14/00, File No.: 7200-01) (REDMS No. 144597)

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

(1)

That staff proceed with the construction of a fieldhouse (Attachment 1 to the report dated April 14th, 2000, from the Director, Parks) at London/Steveston Park at a cost of $467,539.

(2)

That existing funding of $53,000 be reallocated from the Capital Reserve Fund, Bylaw 6909 Account #1404 and $19,339 be reallocated from the 1999 Parks Minor Capital account 45799 to the London/Steveston Park fieldhouse project.

FIELDHOUSE FACILITY AT PALMER/GARDEN CITY PARK

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

(1)

That Option 4 (as outlined in the report dated April 27th, 2000, from the Director of Parks) at a cost of $348,428, be adopted as the approved design for the construction of a fieldhouse facility at Palmer/Garden City Park.

(2)

That existing funding in the amount of $124,128 in the Capital Program for the Minoru Park Fieldhouse Project (account number 45911) be reallocated to the Palmer/Garden City Fieldhouse project.

(3)

That staff develop an operating agreement with Richmond Boy’s Fastball for use of the Palmer/Garden City fieldhouse, for submission to Council for approval through the Community Services Committee.
