PROVINCIAL CHILD CARE FUNDING CUTS | |

STAFF RECOMMENDATION | |||
That, as per the Manager of Policy Planning report dated February 28, 2007, the City explore the possibility of restoring the Richmond Child Care Resource and Referral Centre (RCCRRC) and/or its services, should this be required, by: | |||
(1) |
having Real Estate Services investigate the availability of City-owned buildings to accommodate the Centre; | ||
(2) |
approving a consulting budget of $20,000 to enable the current City contracted Child Care Coordinator to consult with community stakeholders (e.g., Child Care Development Advisory Committee [lead], Richmond Community Services Advisory Committee), to determine how the Centre might be sustained; | ||
(3) |
having Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services, over the longer term, consider the viability of incorporating the Centre into City community centres and community service hubs; and | ||
(4) |
forwarding this report to the City School Board Liaison Committee for information. | ||
