The Chair called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.

It was moved and seconded

 

 

That the minutes of the meeting of the Planning Committee held on Tuesday, November 19, 2002, be adopted as circulated.

The next meeting of the Committee will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2003, at 4:00 p.m. in the Anderson Room.

BUSINESS REGULATION BYLAW 7148, AMENDMENT BYLAW 7557

The Manager, Zoning, Alan Clark, was present.

 

 

It was moved and seconded

 

 

That Bylaw 7557 which amends Schedule A of Business Regulation Bylaw 7148 to include 7988 Alderbridge Way among the geographic areas in which a video arcade may operate, be introduced and given first, second and third readings.

APPLICATION BY NICHOLAS POON FOR REZONING AT 8360, 8380 AND 8420 NO. 2 ROAD FROM SINGLE-FAMILY HOUSING DISTRICT, SUBDIVISION AREA E (R1/E) TO COMPREHENSIVE DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT (CD/123)

The Manager, Development Applications, Joe Erceg, and Jenny Beran, Planner, were present.

 

 

In response to questions Ms. Beran said that the subject property was unique in that a lane would not be required as a condition of rezoning due to i) the adjacent property to the north having access to an internal road; and, ii) there being no other properties for a lane to serve.

 

 

It was moved and seconded

 

 

That Bylaw No. 7554, for the rezoning of 8360, 8380 and 8420 No. 2 Road from Single-Family Housing District, Subdivision Area E (R1/E) to Comprehensive Development District (CD/123), be introduced and given first reading.

APPLICATION BY BOB HOURIE FOR REZONING AT 11631 AND 11651 BIRD ROAD FROM SINGLE-FAMILY HOUSING DISTRICT, SUBDIVISION AREA E (R1/E) TO SINGLE-FAMILY HOUSING DISTRICT, SUBDIVISION AREA D (R1/D)

That Bylaw No. 7556, for the rezoning of 6431/6451 Chatsworth Road from Two-Family Housing District (R5) to Single-Family Housing District, Subdivision Area B (R1/B), be introduced and given first reading.

7.

CHILD CARE DEVELOPMENT STATUTORY RESERVE FUND EXPENDITURES
(Report:  Nov. 15/02, File No.:  8060-20-7346/7376) (REDMS No. 905916, 720874, 661019)

 

 

Lesley Sherlock, Social Planner, was present and in response to a question said that the amounts granted to each entity were the amounts requested by those entities that were considered appropriate by the Child Care Development Board in their review of the requests for funds. 

 

 

It was moved and seconded

 

 

That $20,836.00 be provided from the Child Care Statutory Reserve Fund in the following amounts:

 

 

 

       

$4,165 to Riverside children's Centre for toys and equipment;

 

 

 

       

$5,742 to Hamilton Community Association Out-of-School Care and Kindercare for furnishings and equipment;

 

 

 

       

$350 to Little Wings Day Care for infant playground equipment;

 

 

 

       

$1,514 to Treehouse Early Learning Centre for playground equipment;

 

 

 

       

$2,065 to Bowling Green children's Centre for an infant quad stroller (4 seats); and

 

 

 

       

$7,000 to South Arm Community Association Out-of-School Care and Kindercare for equipment.

CARRIED
