The Chair called the meeting to order at 4:03 p.m.

That the minutes of the meeting of the General Purposes Committee held on Monday, September 15, 2008, be adopted as circulated.

2009 Permissive Exemption - Bylaw 8398

(Report:  September 23, 2008, File No.:  12-8060-20-8398) (REDMS No. 2472879, 2465374)

It was moved and seconded

That the 2009 Permissive Exemption Bylaw 8398 be introduced and given first, second, and third readings.

In answer to a query, Ivy Wong, Manager, Revenue, advised that it was anticipated that in addition to the fruit trees planted in 2008, the India Cultural Centre would plant additional fruit trees in the Spring of 2009. 

The question on the motion was then called, and it was CARRIED.
