The Chair called the open meeting to order at 6:09 p.m. |

Discussion ensued among Committee members on the rationale for dealing with the matter of the proposed Trade & Exhibition Centre at a closed meeting of Council. |
|

|
(Mayor Brodie entered the meeting – 6:22 p.m.) |
|
|
|
As a result of the discussion, the following resolution was adopted: |

It was moved and seconded |
|
|
|
That the report (dated June 19th, 2006, from the Manager, Economic Development), regarding an Update on the Trade and Exhibition Centre, be referred to the open General Purposes Committee meeting. |

|
|
The closed meeting of the General Purposes Committee was then recessed so that Committee could reconvene into open session to consider the Trade & Exhibition Centre matter. |

Committee hereby declares that the meeting held on Wednesday, June 21st, 2006, is to be closed to the public, and that the basis of this closure is that the following items on the agenda of this meeting comply with the following closed meeting criteria specified in Section 90 of the Community Charter : | |
