STAFF RECOMMENDATION

That:

(1)

the Vision (Attachment 7 to the report dated December 11, 2003 from the General Manager, Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services), be endorsed;

(2)

staff prepare an area plan amendment which incorporates the endorsed Vision for public hearing, as soon as possible (e.g., a March 2004 public hearing);

(3)

staff make information regarding the endorsed Vision available for public viewing at City Hall; with comments to be presented at the public hearing.

RICHMOND 125 CELEBRATION OPPORTUNITIES

STAFF RECOMMENDATION

(1)

That staff implement the expanded celebration opportunities for Richmond's 125th Anniversary;

(2)

That all costs associated with the event be funded from the 2004 Council Provisions fund; and

(3)

That staff seek corporate or community sponsors for Council approved events.
