STAFF RECOMMENDATION

 

 

That:

 

 

(1 )

the District of Maple Ridges resolution to the Provincial Task Force on Energy Policy to undertake a more open, transparent and inclusive consultation process so that the full impacts and benefits (of any B.C. Hydro privatization) can be reached and accounted for on a local, regional and provincial basis, be endorsed; and

 

 

(2 )

the Provincial Task Force on Energy Policy, the Greater Vancouver Regional District, the Union of B.C. Municipalities, the Local Municipal Managers Association, and Richmond's MLAs be informed of Councils decision.

That the report (dated August 14th, 2002, from the Acting Chief Administrative Officer dated August 14, 2002, as amended, and as detailed in the report dated August 27th, 2002, from the City Solicitor), be endorsed and forwarded to the Ministry of State for Community Charter, the Executive of UBCM, and the Community Charter Council after it has been reviewed and approved by Committee and before formal endorsement by Council in order to meet submission deadlines.
