Mayor Brodie called the meeting to order at 4:00 p.m.

CLOSURE OF THE COUNCIL MEETING TO THE PUBLIC AND COMPLIANCE WITH THE COMMUNITY CHARTER CLOSED MEETING CRITERIA

SIC14/2-1

 

It was moved and seconded

 

 

Council hereby declares that the meeting held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, is to be closed to the public and that the basis of this closure is that the following items on the agenda of this meeting comply with the following closed meeting criteria specified in Section 90 of the Community Charter:

 

 

Item 1

90(1)(c) -    labour relations or other employee relations;

 

 

 

90(1)(e) -    the acquisition, disposition or expropriation of land or improvements, if the council considers that disclosure could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality; and

 

 

 

90(1)(k) -    negotiations and related discussions respecting the proposed provision of a municipal service that are at their preliminary stages and that, in the view of the council, could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality if they were held in public.

AGENDA ADDITIONS AND COMMUNITY CHARTER CLOSED MEETING COMPLIANCE FOR ADDITIONAL ITEMS

 SIC14/2-2

 

It was moved and seconded

 

 

That a community safety matter and a naming opportunity be added to the agenda as additional items and that these items be deemed in compliance with the following closed meeting criteria specified in Section 90 of the Community Charter:

 

 

90(1)(k) -    negotiations and related discussions respecting the proposed provision of a municipal service that are at their preliminary stages and that, in the view of the council, could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality if they were held in public; and

 

 

90(1)(b) - personal information about an identifiable individual who is being considered for a municipal award or honour, or who has offered to provide a gift to the municipality on condition of anonymity.
