The purpose of the meeting is to consider the following:

ADDITIONAL HOTEL ROOM TAX BYLAWS

RECOMMENDATION

(1)

That third reading of Additional Hotel Room Tax Imposition Bylaw No. 8894 be rescinded;

(2)

That Additional Hotel Room Tax Imposition Bylaw No. 8894 be amended by deleting section 3 and substituting therefore the following:

“3. The purposes for which the amount paid to the City of Richmond out of the revenue collected from the tax to be imposed under the provisions of the regulation referred to in section 1 of this Bylaw may be expended are:

(a)

tourism marketing, programs and projects; and

(b)

sport hosting marketing, programs and projects.”

(3)

That Additional Hotel Room Tax Imposition Bylaw No. 8894 be given third reading as amended on this day;

(4)

That each of the following bylaws (currently sitting at third reading), be abandoned:

(a)

Additional Hotel Room Tax Levy Bylaw No. 6817, Amendment Bylaw No. 8897;

(b)

Additional Hotel Room Tax Imposition Bylaw No. 8471, Amendment Bylaw No. 8899; and

(c)

Additional Hotel Room Tax Imposition Bylaw No. 7810, Amendment Bylaw No. 8898.
