Call to Order:

Mayor Brodie called the meeting to order in open session at 4:00 p.m., and advised that the meeting would be recessed until the conclusion of the closed meeting of the General Purposes Committee.

The Special (closed) Council meeting reconvened at 7:32 p.m. with all members of Council present.  Staff present were George Duncan, Joe Erceg, Jeff Day, Mike Kirk, Andrew Nazareth, David Weber, Christine McGilvray, Ted Townsend, Terry Crowe, Suzanne Carter-Huffman, Victor Wei, Margot Daykin, Signi Solmundson and Fran J. Ashton.

 

 

 

CLOSURE OF THE COUNCIL MEETING TO THE PUBLIC AND COMPLIANCE WITH THE COMMUNITY CHARTER CLOSED MEETING CRITERIA

It was moved and seconded

 

 

Council hereby declares that the meeting held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, September 12th, 2005 is to be closed to the public and that the basis of this closure is that the following items on the agenda of this meeting comply with the following closed meeting criteria specified in Section 90 of the Community Charter:

 

 

Item 1

90(1)(e) -  the acquisition, disposition or expropriation of land or improvements, if the council considers that disclosure could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality; and

 

 

Item 2

90(1)(e) -  the acquisition, disposition or expropriation of land or improvements, if the council considers that disclosure could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality; and

 

 

 

90(1)(k) -  negotiations and related discussions respecting the proposed provision of a municipal service that are at their preliminary stages and that, in view of the council, could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality if they were held in public.
