Mayor Brodie called the meeting to order in open session at 6:30 p.m.

AGENDA ADDITIONS; CLOSURE OF THE COUNCIL MEETING TO THE PUBLIC AND COMPLIANCE WITH THE COMMUNITY CHARTER CLOSED MEETING CRITERIA

It was moved and seconded

(1)

That an oral report on the status of the DFO Lands and the Musqueam Court Case be added to the Agenda as Item 4; and
 

(2)

Council hereby declares that the meeting held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29^th, 2004  is to be closed to the public and that the basis of this closure is that the following items on the agenda of this meeting comply with the following closed meeting criteria specified in Section 90 of the Community Charter:
 

Item 1

90(1)(b) - personal information about an identifiable individual who is being considered for a municipal award or honour, or who has offered to provide a gift to the municipality on condition of anonymity; and
 

Item 2

90(1)(e) - the acquisition, disposition or expropriation of land or improvements, if the council considers that disclosure could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality;
 

Item 3

90(1)(k) - negotiations and related discussions respecting the proposed provision of a municipal service that are at their preliminary stages and that, in view of the council, could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality if they were held in public;
 

90(2)(b) - the consideration of information received and held in confidence relating to negotiations between the municipality and a provincial government or the federal government, or both, or between a provincial government or the federal government or both and a third party; and
 

Item 4

90(1)(g) - litigation or potential litigation affecting the municipality.
