COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION

 

 

That  letters be sent to:

 

 

(a)

Richmond MLAs (Hon. Geoff Plant, Hon. Linda Reid, and Hon. Greg Halsey-Brandt) requesting a meeting in connection with proposed Bill 27; and

 

 

(b)

the Premier, with copies to Minister George Abbott, UBCM, the GVRD, the GVRD Mayors, LMTAC and the Land Reserve Commission, advising that Council has serious concerns about proposed Bill 27, and in particular about the lack of requirements for First Nations to consult with  municipalities when requesting ALR exclusions.
